How to choose mesh motorcycle gloves

Compare mesh panel placement, palm material, knuckle protection, wrist closure, touchscreen compatibility, finger mobility and intended season. Review each product page for exact materials, sizing, protective components and certification information before ordering.

What mesh gloves are for

Mesh gloves exist to solve one problem: hands that sweat and swell in hot weather. Panels of mesh across the back of the hand and between the fingers let air move while the bike is moving, which keeps your grip dry and your hands working. The mesh belongs on the back of the hand, not the palm.

Protection in a summer glove

Ventilation and protection are not in conflict if the glove is built properly. Look for a leather or synthetic palm with a reinforcement layer, hard or moulded knuckle protection over the back of the hand, and a wrist retention strap. A glove that is mesh everywhere, palm included, is a cycling glove with a motorcycle label.

Fit and wet weather

Mesh gloves should fit snugly, because a loose glove shifts under load and the protection moves with it. Expect them to soak through in rain and then dry quickly — that is the trade-off for airflow. They are not cold-weather gloves, and layering under them does not work.
