Description
The Nordline Traverse is an all-season textile touring jacket in warm grey with amber visibility detailing, built for riders covering long distances through changing weather rather than for short trips in settled conditions.
Specification
- Materials: Abrasion-resistant textile shell with reinforced high-impact zones and a breathable mesh lining
- Protection: Removable shoulder and elbow protectors, with a pocket for an optional back protector
- Weather system: Waterproof liner, removable thermal liner and adjustable zip ventilation
- Fit: Adjustable waist, arms and cuffs; sizes XS–4XL
How the three-layer system actually works
The shell, the waterproof liner and the thermal liner are separate, which is what makes a jacket like this usable across a year rather than a season. Run all three in winter. Drop the thermal liner in spring and autumn. In summer, take both liners out, open the zip vents and the mesh lining lets air through the shell. The practical consequence worth planning for is that the liners have to live somewhere when they are not in the jacket — on a long trip that means luggage space you need to account for.
Amber rather than fluorescent
The visibility detailing here is amber against warm grey, which is a deliberately lower-key choice than hi-vis lime. It gives you contrast in low light without the jacket looking like site clothing off the bike. Riders who want maximum daytime conspicuity should look at the Summit Guard instead, which uses the same platform with high-visibility lime accents.
Fit and sizing
Eight sizes, XS through 4XL. Adjustable at the waist, arms and cuffs. Size for the bulkiest configuration you will ride in — a jacket that fits well without liners will be tight across the chest with both of them fitted.
Care
Remove armor and liners before cleaning. Hand wash cold and air dry. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Reproofing the outer periodically will keep water beading on the shell rather than soaking into it and chilling you through the membrane.
Best for
Long-distance touring and adventure riding through unpredictable forecasts.
