Burgundy on a race cut

Burgundy is a heritage colour — it belongs on a waxed cotton jacket or a cruiser hide, not usually on something with a connection zip and articulated sleeves. That mismatch is the point. This jacket gives you the fit and construction of a sport jacket while looking like something you chose rather than something the paddock issued. It works particularly well against a bike in black, silver or bare metal, and less well against bright modern bodywork.

How burgundy ages

Deep burgundy hide develops a genuine patina rather than simply fading. High-wear areas — elbows, the inner forearm where it meets the tank, the shoulder under a rucksack strap — lighten towards a warmer red over a few seasons. On a black jacket that wear looks like damage; here it looks like history. Conditioning slows it down if you would rather keep the colour even.

Fit and sizing

Eight sizes, EU 46 / US 36 through EU 60 / US 50. Fitted race cut with a forward-canted torso, a shorter front hem and deliberately long sleeves. Measure your chest over a single base layer against the size chart. Take the larger size if you are on a boundary, particularly if a back protector will go underneath.

Care

Wipe clean using a soft damp cloth. Air dry away from direct heat. Use an uncoloured conditioner — a tinted product will shift burgundy towards brown unevenly, and it does not come back.

Sport and fast road riding for people who want the construction of a race jacket and none of the replica styling.
