ApexGrid R Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket

Black and graphite with electric blue. The ApexGrid R is the ventilation-focused jacket in the Zeesmoto® R range — the same leather chassis as the rest of the line, with the perforated panel work given a more prominent role in the design.

How perforation actually works on leather

Perforated panels only move air when air is moving past them, which means a ventilated leather jacket does very little in traffic and a great deal at speed. That is the opposite of a mesh textile jacket, which breathes at a standstill. If your hot-weather riding is stop-start commuting, mesh is the better tool; if it is fast A-roads and track sessions in summer, perforated leather gives you airflow without giving up the abrasion behaviour of a hide.

Electric blue against graphite

The accent here is a bright, cool blue set against a black and graphite body — a sharper, more technical-looking combination than the cobalt-and-silver on the CobaltSprint R, where blue is the field colour rather than the accent. Here the blue is used sparingly, so the jacket reads as dark with a highlight rather than as a blue jacket.

Fit and sizing

Eight sizes, EU 46 / US 36 through EU 60 / US 50. Fitted race cut for a forward riding position. Measure your chest over a single base layer. Bear in mind that a ventilated jacket is usually worn over less, so do not size up for layers you will not be wearing in the weather this jacket is built for.

Care

Wipe clean using a soft damp cloth. Air dry away from direct heat. Perforations trap dust and grit — brush them rather than rubbing dirt further into the holes, and do not let conditioner pool in them, since it dries as visible pale spots.

Best for

Warm-weather sport riding, summer track days and fast road use.
