Burnt orange rather than safety orange

There are two oranges in this range and they do different jobs. The vivid orange on the Iceflare R is chosen for contrast and conspicuity. The burnt orange here is a darker, browner tone that reads as a design choice rather than a safety feature — closer to rust than to a traffic cone. It gives the jacket warmth against the black without turning it into workwear.

The entry price, and what you are not giving up

This is the least expensive jacket in the R range, and the saving is in the colourway rather than the construction. The leather, the articulated sleeve, the reinforced shoulder and elbow areas, the perforated panels and the rear connection zip are the same across the range. If you are buying your first leather sport jacket and do not want to spend up front, this is the sensible place to start.

Fit and sizing

Eight sizes, EU 46 / US 36 through EU 60 / US 50. Fitted race cut — shorter at the front, longer at the back, long in the sleeve. New leather is stiff across the shoulders for the first few hundred miles and does not stretch its way out of a size that is genuinely too small, so take the larger option on a boundary.

Care

Wipe clean using a soft damp cloth. Air dry away from direct heat. Use an uncoloured leather-care product. Keep it out of sustained direct sunlight — warm orange pigment fades towards a washed-out tan faster than black does.
